Exciting new things are coming to Library à la Carte. Click here for more info.

Content Management System for Libraries

The Library à la Carte Content Management System (CMS) enables librarians to easily and quickly create dynamic web pages that integrate Web 2.0 features, such as chat and RSS feeds, with traditional library content, such as catalogs and article databases. Library à la Carte is a free open-source solution for libraries by libraries.

Library Information Made to Order

Library à la Carte gives librarians a menu of choices to build course assignment pages, subject guides and tutorials. Customized content in bite-size chunks helps users discover and connect with library resources and librarians.

Hello.  My name is Stephen Westman and I am the new developer and manager of the Library à la Carte project here at Oregon State University.  I have been hired to support and extend the capabilities of Library à la Carte into the future.  We are looking into some very exciting things which we will be detailing here in the coming months.

I'm happy to announce a new release of Library a la Carte. This release has
many new features, changes and bug fixes!

New Features in the Tool:

Search Pages, Guides, Tutorials and Modules.
This feature should help you find your content quicker in the tool. This
search is a full text search that searches most of your content.

We found a bug in 1.4.5 that is critical.  I pushed a bug fix out. See http://rubyforge.org/frs/?group_id=6732

Replace guide_controller.rb with the one in the package.

The most common response we have received from other Libraries over the last two years about Library a la Carte is:

"We love it! But we don't have the IT support to host it."
